Minimum Desirable Product
What if you were to take those same books on that list, but for the next 10 months, each article (or once every few articles), you also mention a book from the list that is relevant to that article? I'll bet that clickthrough and conversion will be higher.
For example, your "Secret History of Silicon Valley" article.
The reader then has only one book to focus on and it's relevant to what s/he is reading about.
Enjoy your break from this blog. You've earned it for sure.
On the other hand, your blog is information rich. Readers come to your site to seek your insights. They're not necessarily in the buying mode (although they'll occasionally click the book links to buy something.) I think you don't necessarily have the "buying crowed" knocking at your door.
I'm curious about your ad sense and some source of revenue for this blog. Looking at your Alexa ranking of about 100,000, I think if you want, you can make good revenue from signing private ad deals, although it'll be a lot of work. :-)
cheers,

You have done good work.
